Structural characteristics of horizontal non detachable spiral plate heat exchanger
The horizontal non removable spiral plate heat exchanger has a unique structural design. The following provides a detailed introduction to its structural characteristics from the aspects of overall structure, spiral channel, sealing and connection, and support structure:
Overall structure
Horizontal layout: The equipment is placed horizontally as a whole, which has advantages in the utilization of installation space. It can adapt to places where the height of the equipment is limited and the horizontal space is relatively abundant. For example, in some workshops, horizontal equipment can be more reasonably arranged and combined with other equipment.
Compact design: Compared to traditional heat exchangers, horizontal non removable spiral plate heat exchangers have a compact structure and small footprint. The two spiral channels inside are closely arranged, greatly increasing the effective heat transfer area per unit volume. Under the same heat transfer demand, it can save a lot of infrastructure investment and space resources.
Spiral channel
Double helix channel: Two parallel metal plates are rolled into two helical channels, and hot and cold fluids flow in their respective helical channels. This design enables the fluid to form a pure counterflow state during the flow process, which can obtain a larger logarithmic mean temperature difference and improve heat transfer efficiency. For example, in chemical production, this heat exchange method helps to better control the reaction temperature and improve product quality.
Channel size and shape: The size and shape of the spiral channel are carefully designed, and its width and depth will be adjusted according to specific application scenarios and fluid characteristics. The uniform curvature of the channel prevents significant turning of the fluid during flow, reducing flow resistance and minimizing local wear and corrosion caused by uneven fluid turbulence.
Large heat transfer area: The structure of the spiral plate greatly increases the heat transfer area of the heat exchanger. Compared with traditional shell and tube heat exchangers, the heat transfer area of spiral plate heat exchangers can reach 2-3 times its original volume, enabling more efficient heat transfer.
Sealing and connection
Non detachable seal: Both ends of the spiral channel are welded together to form a closed heat exchange space. This non detachable structure has high sealing performance and can effectively prevent leakage between hot and cold fluids, making it particularly suitable for handling highly toxic, flammable, explosive, or valuable fluids. For example, in the petrochemical industry, this sealing structure can ensure the safety and reliability of the production process for some flammable and explosive media.
Takeover design: The takeover on the shell adopts a tangential structure, which enables fluid to enter and exit the heat exchanger more smoothly, reducing local resistance. At the same time, tangential connections also contribute to the uniform distribution of fluids and improve heat transfer efficiency.
Support structure
Distance column and support plate: Set distance columns and support plates between the spiral plates to maintain the spacing and stability of the spiral channel. The fixed distance column can prevent the spiral plate from deforming under pressure and temperature changes, ensuring the dimensional accuracy of the channel; The support plate enhances the structural strength of the entire heat exchanger, enabling it to withstand greater working pressure and thermal stress.
Shell protection: The shell of the heat exchanger is usually made of metal material, which has good strength and corrosion resistance. The shell can not only protect the internal spiral plates and channels, but also withstand certain external pressures and impacts, ensuring the safe operation of the equipment.
